The student and the tutor log on to a web site at a pre-determined time for a regimented course, which could be Math or Science or any other subject. The student and tutor, before the class, understand the session topics; the tutor gives a course content introduction to the student and gives him/her a problem to solve and helps students in solving their problem.

The technology used is VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol). Along with this, a proprietary software is used by both the tutor and the student, with two-way voice interaction as well as a chat room (for text messages); tutor and students also have an access to an electronic whiteboard. The session lasts for an hour or more as required by the student and the student can discuss any questions and problems pertaining to the topic.

EduXcel offers multiple packages to students. Students can opt for a single hour class or opt for a course package where student and instructor meet online on specified days and time. Payment policies are on hourly tutorials and packages based on classes.
